Together we are the Church.  Come, grow in Christ with us!

Upcoming Services, Events & Opportunities to Serve

Out of care for one another during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we are continuing to keep "social distancing." Public Worship Services, book and Bible studies continue to be suspended until further notice.  At this time, our leadership has opted for an extended reopening time to ensure the safety of our church members.  The leaders of our church will keep you posted via the weekly News-in-the-Pews, church-wide emails, The Epistle newsletter, and our church’s website on our reopening status.

We will continue to provide a 9:30 A.M. live-streamed Worship Service on our church’s Facebook page. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/First-Congregational-United-Church-of-Christ-Fairport-NY-174043249305098.  Also, an audio Worship Service will be recorded and downloaded to our church’s website (www.fairportucc.org) each Sunday by 11:15 A.M. All of our Church Boards, Committees, and Church Council will conduct meetings via Zoom or email.

Pastor Greg Rupright encourages anyone who has a pastoral concern or prayer request to contact him at any time: revgregrup.ucc@gmail.com; 585-966-9416 (cell); 585-223-0224 (church).

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13th - check the Pastor's Blog Bible Study on our church's website: www.fairportucc.org.  Just click Pastor's Blog.  This week's Pastor's Blog Bible Study is on Genesis 45:1-15.  Reply to the blog or email Pastor Greg any of your reflections on this passage.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th at 9:30 AM BROADCAST SERVICE (www.fairportucc.org - click the sermons tab) - ELEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST.  The Sunday Message, "Does God Have A Plan for Our Lives?" will focus on Genesis 45:1-15.  Do you remember the Hebrew Bible story of Joseph?  In the long and complicated story of Joseph, it's easy to default to saying simply, "You see, everything does happen for a reason!"  But Joseph's story is really a story about how God redeemed and reconciled a family in spite of their sins.  Joseph's jealous brothers selling him into slavery was not enough to disrupt God's plan.  Rather, God was able to overcome it, ensuring that the end result would be even more beautiful.  That's true with events and situations in our lives, too.  God does not place pain and hardship into our lives for the sake of some overarching plan but is able to redeem even the lowest points in our life for the sake of God's plan to bring us back to God and to reconcile us to one another.  As it turns out, nothing can stop God from loving us and calling us to love one another.   Heather Watras, our Director of Music Ministries, will sing a solo, "All My Trials," an American Folk Song arranged by Ruth Elaine Schram.  COME JOIN US VIA OUR WEBSITE BROADCAST OR OUR FACEBOOK PAGE LIVE-STREAM WORSHIP SERVICE (https://www.facebook.com/First-Congregational-United-Church-of-Christ-Fairport-NY-174043249305098).  ALL ARE WELCOME!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th at 11:00 AM - ZOOM COFFEE HOUR.  Click the following link to join us for a time of sharing and conversation:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89539855460.  The meeting ID: is 895 3985 5460.
