OFFICE SCHEDULE THIS WEEK:  Vicki will be on vacation Wednesday, Nov. 21. The office will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

NEWS IN THE PEWS DEADLINE:  Submissions for the November 25 bulletin are due by 9:00 am on Monday, November 19th.

ANNUAL FINANCIAL MEETING:  The meeting will be held on Sunday, December 9th, immediately following the worship service. The budget for 2019 will be discussed and voted on. Please plan on attending.

HELP NEEDED! ADVENT DINNER CRAFT:  As in years past, we often have an activity or program for our church to enjoy prior to the Advent Dinner. We would again this year like to offer several holiday craft stations for everyone to come and make. If you would be willing to prepare a craft to share, please contact Amy Pasley at or 585-330-2712. The craft should only take about 10 minutes or so to complete. We are looking for 2-3 volunteers. The cost of the craft material can be reimbursed to you. (*Parents of High School Students…. We’d love to have our youth involved in some way – please let us know if any are interested and available!)

MISSIONS GUEST SPEAKER:  We welcome Joyce McAndrew, a representative of PMUNY as our Guest Speaker during Coffee Hour this morning. “I was in prison, and you visited me” (Matthew 25:36). Prison Ministry of Upstate New York (PMUNY) is a tax exempt ministry of the Ecumenical Ministries of Perinton (EMP). PMUNY’s mission is to provide spiritual, educational and financial support allowing Christian volunteers to share Christ’s message of mercy, healing and reconciliation with incarcerated men and women. PMUNY supports 3 day religious retreats called Residents Encounter Christ (REC) at 6 upstate NY correctional facilities for men and Fully Alive spiritual retreats at a nearby facility for women, as well as weekly interfaith programs in the Monroe County Jail for both males and females. PMUNY actively seeks your PRAYERS, TIME, TALENTS, and FINANCIAL SUPPORT so this wonderfully rewarding corporal work of mercy can continue. If you are interested in volunteering or want more information, please visit PMUNY’s website www.pmuny or contact PMUNY at P.O. Box 10106, Rochester, NY 14610; 585-633-0184;

OPEN DOOR MISSION:  The Open door mission is selling paper doves, beginning November 18, 2018, for $1.00 (or more if you choose). Buy a dove, put your name on it and post it on the wall in the southeast corner of Lower Fellowship Hall. Proceeds will be used by the Open Door Mission for their good works.

HILLSIDE CHRISTMAS TREE:  The Hillside Christmas Tree is up in Fellowship Hall. Please stop by and choose an ornament with the attached gift request from a child served by Hillside. The ornament, made by a member of the church, is yours to keep. Thank you again this year to Jill O’Connor who came up with the ornament concept and led the workshop. Please take a flyer and write your name and phone number on the sign-up sheets near the tree. The unwrapped gifts must be returned under the tree by Sunday, December 9th.  When you bring the gift to church, please add a gift bag or wrapping paper and ribbon. Make sure the original name tag is attached to the gift in some way. Thank you for participating in this year’s Hillside Christmas Tree project.

CHRISTMAS BASKETS:  We will begin signups for Christmas Basket donations on Sunday, November 18, 2018.

ADVENT DINNER:  The Advent Dinner hosted by the Board of Deacons will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 5;30 PM in Fellowship Hall. A sign-up sheet is posted in Fellowship Hall. Remember to bring your own plates and silverware. Beverages, cups, napkins and dessert will be provided by the Deacons. The Deacons welcome volunteers to assist with Advent Dinner set up tasks following the 9:30 AM service. Anyone wishing to add baked goods to the dessert menu are welcome to do so. If you have any questions please contact Dave Mosher, 381-6961, or any deacon. We look forward to seeing you on December 2.

FLOWER SIGN-UP SHEET:  The 2019 sign-up sheet has been posted. Deacons are asking that those who sign up for flowers indicate "T" for take or "D" for donate after their names. It helps to know what should be done with the flowers.
