SPRING OR SUMMER CLEANING? Items left over from your own garage sale? The Advent House is sorely in need of items for its 2010 Garage Sale. We are still accepting donated items until August 16th...you can drop off your items in the garage anytime...a volunteer will open the garage door if it is closed. We are accepting furniture, household, sporting goods, tools, toys, children's books and cookbooks. The sale will be held this year at the VFW, 300 Macedon Center Road, on Friday, August 27th, 9 am to 7 pm and Saturday, August 28th, 9 am to 4 pm.

THE CHURCH-WIDE GARAGE SALE IS COMING!!! The church wide garage sale is on Friday, October 1 and Saturday October 2 and will features booths where individuals or groups of individuals can sell their garage sale items as a benefit for our church roof project. Additional volunteers need to bake cookies, pies, cakes, quick breads and other items for our Baked Foods booth. We will also need extra individuals to help out during the day. ARE YOU MY BROTHER’S KEEPER? The 2nd Annual My Brother's Keeper Gift Bazaar will be Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6. We need people to help us re-paint the old Antique Show signs, volunteer to help move in/move out stuff for the show, serve food, and a sundry of other tasks. Sign-ups are in Fellowship Hall! MORNING CIRCLE will meet on September 14 at 10 AM in Fellowship Hall. New members are always welcome—just bring a sandwich and stay for lunch—beverage and dessert provided. In March we were introduced by Mrs. Emblidge to Daystar, a facility in Pittsford that provides daycare for medically-fragile infants. We will collecting items for Daystar at the September meeting. Needed are: Size 3 diapers, paper towels, Clorox wipes, dishwater detergent, toilet paper and postage stamps.

ADVENT HOUSE GARAGE SALE Donations are now being accepted for the annual Advent House garage sale. We appreciate gently used household items, toys, furniture, antiques and many other items you may be willing to donate. We are unable to accept any TVs, infant car seats, computer equipment, clothing, mattresses, large appliances, tires, books (except cookbooks and children's books), or sofabeds. Donations are being received at the House, 1010 Moseley Road, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. through August 10, 2010. This sale is one of our major fundraisers and enables us to continue to provide this no-cost caregiving ministry to the dying and their families. We are so thankful for all that you do to support this Home.

GENERAL MEETING FOR MY BROTHER’S KEEPER ARTISAN FAIR: If you are interested in getting involved, please plan to attend our general meeting on Wednesday, July 14th at 7pm. CONGRATULATIONS AND FAREWELL TO OUR CHOIR DIRECTOR. Our choir director, Sarah Frook, has just graduated from the Eastman School of music with a degree in Master of Music in Conducting. We congratulate her on her accomplishment and have been able to receive the benefits of her talents as the director of our choir. It is also with sadness that we must bid farewell to Sarah. She has taken a position at St Catherine’s School in Richmond, Virginia. Sarah is from Virginia and will be close to her family and friends. There will be a special coffee hour recognition for Sarah after church on June 20. Please join Sarah and all the church family in this celebration and farewell for Sarah.

IT IS TIME FOR OUR ANNUAL FCUCC float to take place in the fourth of July Parade. We are in need of candy to distribute while riding on float. Candy that will not melt if it is hot would be greatly appreciated. Please leave at church, thanks, Maureen Campolieto

Please join us for an inspirational evening celebrating women's health and healing and learn more about Safe Journey too. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CHICKEN BBQ Fundraiser on Friday May 21, 2010 - Can you help us lead this fundraiser? Ground work and fire pit were done in 2009 and will make this an easy and profitable fundraiser for our church. Additional help needed to cook chickens and serve dinners. FAIRPORT AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, RELAY FOR LIFE, May 22 & 23, Perinton Community Center. Each Sunday through May 16th, stop by our Relay For Life table in Fellowship Hall. You can help us in several ways:

OUR DONATION BOX FOR SCHOOL # 33 is changing its name! Contributions will now go to the Rochester General School-Based Health Centers at Freddie Thomas, Edison Tech, Marshall High School, School 33 and School 9. The schools could use chapstick, new underwear (for teenage girls), deodorant, sunscreen, and canned food items. Our continued thanks to Rebecca Ledwin for making this donation opportunity available to us!

EACH YEAR the Board of Youth Ministry awards a $500 scholarship to a graduating High School student
planning on attending college. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship please submit the following information to Cathy Kinton by May 1, 2010. Please read through the required information. The scholarship will be award on Graduation Sunday.
2010 Required Scholarship Information: 1) First Church Scholarship Form (See Cathy Kinton for copies)
2) School Activity Resume. 3) Essay- What it means to you to be a Christian. How have your experiences and involvement at First Church influenced your Christian growth
2010 Scholarship Criteria: 75% Essay, 25% Church-Youth Group Participation/Involvement, 80 Minimum Grade Pt Average

ANNUAL REPORTS from all the committees and boards are due in the church office by May 3rd. Our Annual Program meeting will be held after church on May 16, 2010.
