THE PERINTON FOOD SHELF continues to serve the hungry in the community with your help! The non-perishable food items we are low on include: Applesauce (small jars), Coffee, Cookies, Fruit Cocktail, Pork & Beans, Salad Dressing, Stuffing Mixes, Sugar, Toilet Paper. Thank you for your generous support!

HELP WANTED: The Perinton Food Shelf needs a volunteer to serve as webmaster, as well as volunteers for basic cleaning at the Food Shelf. Hours are flexible; satisfaction guaranteed. If you are interested, please call the Perinton Food Shelf at 425-7410.
SALEM SOUP KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS are needed to help fix lunch for those in need. Date: May 25, 2010 Time: 9:15 AM volunteers to meet in the church parking lot and carpool to Salem.

MORNING CIRCLE will hold its May 11 meeting at Joyce Cowden’s home, at 10 AM. Since there is VERY LIMITED parking there and no on-street parking is permitted, we will gather in the church parking lot at 9:30 AM and depart by 9:40 AM in carpools. These cars will be parking in Eileen Slocum’s driveway at 23 Gentian Way, with a five minute walk to Joyce’s. If you have any questions, or if you are unable to attend, please call Joyce at 223-0258.

GRADUATES, submit your brief write-up to be included in the Graduation Sunday bulletin and Epistle. Please include where you are graduating from and what your future plans are. Submit it to the church office by June 7, 2010!

WANTED! Gently used mens and boys dress slacks, dress shirts and dress shoes. All items to be donated to City of Rochester Pathways For Peace Good Fellas Program. The items will be used by inner city teenage boys so that they can make a good first impression for job interviews.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CHICKEN BBQ Fundraiser on Friday May 21, 2010 - Can you help us lead this fundraiser? Ground work and fire pit were done in 2009 and will make this an easy and profitable fundraiser for our church. Additional help needed to cook chickens and serve dinners. Contact Crista Deniz (388-5952 or denizca@frontiernet.net) if you are willing to help.

THE RUMMAGE SALE IS COMING! The Rummage Sale is coming! Mark your calendars and clean out your closets for this bi-annual fundraiser scheduled for September 30, October 1, 2. Volunteers are needed to head this great event and help sorting and pricing sale items. Contact Crista Deniz (388-5952 or denizca@frontiernet.net) if you are willing to help.

EVENING CIRCLE will meet on May 10 at 7pm- Janice Coon will be our guest, who will assist us in planting an awesome container planter. Bring one 10-12 inch container, and $10. Janice will be bringing the plants and soil. Will be great fun. See you then.
ANNUAL REPORTS from all the committees and boards are due in the church office by May 3rd. Our Annual Program meeting will be held after church on May 16, 2010.

FAIRPORT AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, RELAY FOR LIFE, May 22 & 23, Perinton Community Center. Each Sunday through May 16th, stop by our Relay For Life table in Fellowship Hall. You can help us in several ways:
- Join our Step by Step Team and participate in the event
- Sponsor a member of the Step by Step Team
- Sponsor the Step by Step Team
- Buy a raffle ticket with proceeds going towards the American Cancer Society you won’t believe all of the great prizes you have a chance to win!
- Pick up a “Goodness Grow” invitation from Country Way Garden Center
The Relay For Life brings together people to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and to fight back against this disease. This community wide event needs everyone’s help in making it as great an event as it was last year. Stop by our table in Fellowship Hall to get all of the details…..and to help out our church’s team. See Nan Notar or Stacey Mulley for additional information.

OUR DONATION BOX FOR SCHOOL # 33 is changing its name! Contributions will now go to the Rochester General School-Based Health Centers at Freddie Thomas, Edison Tech, Marshall High School, School 33 and School 9. The schools could use chapstick, new underwear (for teenage girls), deodorant, sunscreen, and canned food items. Our continued thanks to Rebecca Ledwin for making this donation opportunity available to us!

EACH YEAR the Board of Youth Ministry awards a $500 scholarship to a graduating High School student
planning on attending college. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship please submit the following information to Cathy Kinton by May 1, 2010. Please read through the required information. The scholarship will be award on Graduation Sunday.
2010 Required Scholarship Information: 1) First Church Scholarship Form (See Cathy Kinton for copies)
2) School Activity Resume. 3) Essay- What it means to you to be a Christian. How have your experiences and involvement at First Church influenced your Christian growth
2010 Scholarship Criteria: 75% Essay, 25% Church-Youth Group Participation/Involvement, 80 Minimum Grade Pt Average
